Dr. Tracy Murphy, co-owner of North Shore Audiology Consultants, began her audiologic career at North Shore Audio-Vestibular Lab in 1993. She takes an active role in bringing contemporary hearing and balance care to her patients. Dr. Murphy's success as a practitioner stems from gaining a thorough understanding of a patient's medical history and establishing a proper diagnosis to ensure that the patient leaves with the best solution possible. Dr. Murphy firmly believes that knowledge is power and takes pride in educating her patients to understand their hearing loss and treatment recommendations. Patient loyalty is a testament to her long-standing dedication, skills, and ability to relate to the individual needs of her patients.
Dr. Murphy is active in state and national organizations, serving in roles that recognize her for her leadership abilities. In 2016, her peers elected her to serve on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Audiology. Since completing her three-year board term, Dr. Murphy continues to serve in leadership roles on various committees within the Academy. She is also involved with interprofessional efforts outside the Academy that recognize and promote the importance of hearing health care. She is an active member of the Hearing Health Collaborative, a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals that was formed to understand the underlying barriers to accessing hearing health care and to define a plan to overcome those challenges.
Dr. Murphy enjoys teaching and lectures at the national conference for The American Academy of Audiology, has been an invited speaker at Rush and Northwestern Universities, was interviewed on the NBC weekend news about the impact of hearing loss in the workplace and has been a guest on WGN Radio with host Bill Moller. In January 2017, Dr. Murphy was recognized for her contributions to the field of Audiology by receiving Honors of the Illinois Academy of Audiology.
In her free time Dr. Murphy enjoys spending time with her family, traveling when possible, and mastering her golf game.
